Parking for apartment check-in, near Coronado Hall & RVA Hut

Conference at:  Student Union, U. of New Mexico

The airport is Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ), http://www.cabq.gov/airport, located at 2200 Sunport Blvd. SE Albuquerque, New Mexico 87106, and its air carriers are listed at the bottom of this section.  It is 2.5 miles (average driving time 7 minutes) from the parking area near the check-in location at the University of New Mexico campus apartments P-POD will be using:  301 Girard Blvd. NE, Albuquerque NM 87106, which is one of the RED PINS in the map above.  Driving directions from airport to apartment check-in are under the CAR tab.

The apartments are the Redondo Village Apartments, https://housing.unm.edu/residence-halls/redondo-village.html.

The other RED PIN in the map above is the location of our conference sessions, the Student Union, 1 University of New Mexico, Albuquerque NM 87131-0001.

In terms of inexpensive public transportation resources out of the airport, the city bus #50 (schedule at http://data.cabq.gov/transit/Maps/50-wkday.pdf/view) leaves the airport on weekdays every 1/2 hour from 7 am through 8 pm, but the closest it gets to P-POD is Central Ave SE at Yale Blvd SE (one edge of campus), which is 0.8 miles from the parking lot close to apartment check-in.  Thus the best that city buses would accomplish for apartment users is to reduce a potential 2.5 mile cab distance to 0.8 miles.  Fare is $1 adult, 35 cents senior/student, free for children.

OTHER AIRPORT-TO-UNIVERSITY TRANSPORTATION.  Otherwise:  (1) the airport shuttle company is Sunset Shuttle at 505-883-4966/866-505-4966 and reservations@sunportshuttle.com;  (2) taxi services are Albuquerque Cab Company 505-883-4888 and Yellow Cab Company 505-247-8888;  (3) for people choosing not to use the P-POD campus apartments, some Albuquerque hotels offer their own airport shuttles, and a partial list of such hotels is shown under the HOUSING tab.

WALKABLE CAMPUS HOUSING:   You will have an option during P-POD online registration to book walking-distance campus apartments.  You’d have a private locking bedroom in an apartment shared with 1 or 2 others.  You’d choose them, else we’d randomly assign persons who are gender-appropriate as defined by you.  Each apartment has a kitchen, bathroom and living room.  [Beds are the usual size for college campuses, best described as “twin” as opposed to king or queen.]

Our Costs 2017 page describes the $69/night or $89/night cost of campus apartments.

The apartments are the Redondo Village Apartments, https://housing.unm.edu/residence-halls/redondo-village.html.

The location for checking in for apartments upon arrival is described under the AIR and CAR tabs:  301 Girard Blvd. NE, Albuquerque NM 87106.  This is one of the RED PINS in the map above.

The other RED PIN in the map above is the location of our conference sessions, the Student Union, 1 University of New Mexico, Albuquerque NM 87131-0001.

OFF-CAMPUS HOTELS.  You may of course arrange your own off-campus housing.  We will not endorse any particular hotels.  However, we would note that one of the university’s departments has compiled a short list of hotels that were claimed to offer (1) an airport-to-hotel shuttle, (2) a hotel-to-university shuttle, and (3) a discounted rate for guests attending official university functions.  We will reproduce it here below, but we do not guarantee that all the above benefits continue to exist today….  and we also imagine that it may not include ALL hotels who offer shuttles.  (Please do note that the P-POD Conference is officially co-sponsored by university departments/programs:  the Section of Integrative Medicine, and the Center for Life Integrative Medicine Specialty Clinic, at the University of New Mexico.)
