Continuing Education 2015

Plant-based Prevention Of Disease (P-POD) conferences are primarily intended as a continuing education opportunity for health professionals (although students and the general public are welcomed).  A general description of our conference activity is at our About P-POD page.  The specific learning objectives for our Sept. 11-13, 2015 conference overall, and for EACH of its sessions separately, are at our Objectives 2015 page.

Available continuing education credits for the 2nd annual national Plant-based Prevention Of Disease (P-POD) conference (Raleigh NC, Sept. 11-13, 2015) are as follows:

 

**Awarded to physicians, and recognizable (subject to their own credentialing requirements) for Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Nurse Midwives and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists:
CME:  This activity is designated for a maximum of
12.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Certificates will be issued by the Mountain Area Health Education Center.

$326 full-weekend FINAL registration fee for physicians, or
$253 for these other professionals, covers this.

OPTOMETRISTS MAY UTILIZE THE ABOVE CME, according to the North Carolina State Board of Optometry.

**For nurses, and any other practitioners whose credentialing organization recognizes the following:
This activity meets the criteria for
1.3 CEU or the equivalent of 13 contact hours as established by the National Task Force on the Continuing Education Unit.  Certificates will be issued by the Mountain Area Health Education Center.

$253 full-weekend FINAL registration fee covers this.

**For Registered Dietitians and Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RD’s, RDN’s):
13.5 CPEU’s for participation in the full weekend conference have been approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
$221 full-weekend FINAL registration fee for members of supporting dietetics groups listed on the Registration 2015 page, or
$253 for other RD’s/RDN’s, covers this.

[PARTIAL WEEKEND:  Any continuing education credit recipient who chooses to register and participate for the Friday-plus-Saturday or Saturday-plus-Sunday option only, will be awarded credits reduced proportionately from the maximum amounts shown for full weekend participation.]

CME DETAILED STATEMENT, 2015:

This CME educational activity is jointly provided by Plant-based Prevention of Disease, Inc. and MAHEC.  The physician course director is Mladen Golubic, MD PhD, and the conference founder/coordinator is Bob LeRoy, RDN MS EdM.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) through the joint providership of the Mountain Area Health Education Center and the Plant-based Prevention of Disease, Inc.  The Mountain Area Health Education Center is accredited by the NCMS to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation
The Mountain Area Health Education Center designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 12.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
